We are extremely pleased to announce the participation of leading Victorian animal welfare groups in the CAT CRISIS COALITION
For the first time, all major Victorian shelters have joined together with the sole aim of achieving mandatory desexing of cats, in order to reduce cat overpopulation and stop the heartbreaking destruction of so many cats each year.
In Victoria alone, 48,000 cats are received by shelters each year, of whom 32,000 are destroyed. This figure has remained constant for 10 years.
Due to sheer numbers, we are forced to destroy thousands of cats and kittens every year. With your support and participation we can at last put an end to this crisis of overpopulation and needless destruction.
|

OUR VISION
Is to end indiscriminate breeding of cats, ensuring that all cats in Victoria are responsibly homed, thereby stopping the annual destruction of tens of thousands of unwanted cats and kittens by animal welfare organisations.
|
OUR MISSION
To ensure that legislation is enacted in Victoria to require that all cats over the age of 12 weeks are desexed unless registered to a licenced breeder; and require that all cats and kittens offered for sale, or acquired must be desexed.
