In Victoria alone, 53,000 cats are received by
shelters each year, of whom 35,000 are destroyed. This figure has
remained constant for over 10 years.
Victorian shelters have joined together with the sole aim of
achieving mandatory desexing of cats, in order to reduce cat
overpopulation and stop the heartbreaking destruction of so many cats
each year.
